Current Voucher Programs 

  • AAAS offers low-cost vouchers for cats and dogs to be fixed. Call (205) 871-6351 to purchase a voucher. Their prices are as follows: Female dog – $70, Male Dog – $50, Female Cat $50, Male Cat $35.
  • Chilton Spay/Neuter Voucher pays for a canine or feline spay/neuter surgery at Alabama Spay/Neuter for those who qualify. For more information call (205) 299 -1385.
  • Etowah Spay/Neuter Voucher pays for a canine or feline spay/neuter surgery at Alabama Spay/Neuter for those who qualify. There is a $40 copay for dogs and a $20 copay for cats. For more information call (256) 442-1347.
  • Friends of Cats and Dogs Foundation provides a discount voucher for spaying and neutering. They can be contacted only via e-mail, but purchase can be made online at their website. Their prices are as follows: Female dog – $70, Male Dog – $50, Female Cat $50, Male Cat $35.
  • Pell City Spay/Neuter Voucher pays for a canine or feline spay/neuter surgery at Alabama Spay/Neuter for those who qualify. Call The Pell City Animal Control Center at (205) 814- 1567  for this voucher.
  • Sylacauga Animal Shelter Voucher Program pays for a canine or feline spay/neuter surgery at Alabama Spay/Neuter for those who qualify. Call (256) 401-2590 for more information.
  • Shasha’s Hope and Rescue Voucher Program is located in Jasper. Call 706-518-3126 or message them on Facebook  for more information.
  • Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter Voucher Program pays for a canine or feline spay/neuter surgery at Alabama Spay/Neuter for those who qualify. Call (205) 752-9101 for more information.

Free Roaming/Feral Cat Programs

  • The T-Snip Program reaches out to the residents of Tuscaloosa, Al fixing feral cats. For $35 the feral cat will receive a spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and ear tip. Call Lucy Roberts at (205) 349-8111.
  • In house Feral Cat Program allows feral cats to be fixed for $35. This price includes a spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and ear tip. Feral cat days are on Mondays and Tuesdays. All feral cats must come in a cat trap to receive this rate. Alabama Spay/Neuter will not transfer a cat from a carrier to a trap in the facility nor on the transport truck.   • The Good Sam Program is for stray cats (not feral cats) that can be easily handled and brought to Alabama Spay/Neuter in a carrier. For $55 a Good Sam will receive a spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and ear tip.

Other Programs

  • Fix Your Momma fixes female dogs and cats of residents living inside Blount County only. Call Jo at (205) 559- 7007.
  • The Pet Pantry Program, a service of  GBHS, offers low-income, means-tested residents of the Birmingham area pet food assistance. Those who qualify for the program will be eligible for a discounted spay/ neuter surgery. Call GBHS to be approved for the Pet Pantry Program (205) 942-1211.
  • SNIP is our Spay/Neuter Incentive Program, also known as SNIP. This program allows those who are on Medicaid or a similar income-based government assistance program to qualify for a $15 discount on up to three pets.
  • The Veterans Program allows all veterans (active or retired) from any branch of the military to have a $15 discount if they show a valid military ID.
  • The Student Program allows active college and junior college students with a current student ID to receive a $15 discount.
